Novel urine treatment for the KREIS-Haus: Since April 2026 ogmo is operating the new Nutrient Harvester NH-05 model in Feldbach at the Zurich Lake. This NH-05 pilot is the first smaller version for single family houses and tiny houses.
The KREIS-Haus is a lighthouse building showcasing the latest state of the art building innovation. Starting with exclusively natural building materials to autarkic energy production and: A truly off-the-grid and circular wastewater management with greywater treatment and reuse and a dry separation toilet on site.
The only missing piece so far: the urine treatment. Urine is extremely rich in nutrients. With the Nutrient Harvester NH-05, urine is not only treated, but a fertilizer is produced on site by a multi-step process. All automized and remote-monitored and -controlled.
Closing the Loop: The KREIS-Haus-own roof garden can now be revitalized with fresh nutrients after the winter break.
With the new ogmo stabilization system we are not only preparing the urine for further concentration, but solving often occurring precipitate scaling issues on the side with a free pipe cleaning integrated.
The project Reclaim-U includes the technology tests, fertilizer trials in the lab and on the Kreis-Haus roof garden and and a social study on implementation barriers. Its funded by the Peter Bopp Foundation for Research and Development.
